Embedding the Booking Module
# 43
Last editetd on 13 June 2026
The JoomBook Booking Wizard is a Joomla module that you embed on any page of your website. Once embedded, customers can book appointments directly from the frontend.
Tip: To prevent real bookings from happening while you are still configuring everything, set the dropdown at "Enable Booking" to "off" under Settings → Frontend Settings. This stops customers from booking during your setup phase.
Step 1: Publish the Module
- Navigate to Content → Site Modules in the Joomla backend.
- Find the module named JoomBook Booking Wizard in the list.
- Click on it to open the module settings.
- Set the status to Published.
- Assign the module to a module position that exists in your template.
- Under the Menu Assignment tab, select the pages where the module should appear.
- Click Save & Close.
Step 2: Place the Module on a Page
Standard Joomla Template
The module appears automatically in the assigned position. If the module is not shown at that position in the frontend, please refer to the general Joomla CMS documentation or, if applicable, the documentation of your installed template.
YOOtheme Pro Template
In YOOtheme Pro, place the module using a Module element inside the page builder:
- Open the page in the YOOtheme builder.
- Add a Module element to the desired position in your layout.
- In the element settings, select JoomBook Booking Wizard from the module list.
- Save the layout.
Module Options
Open the module and go to the Module tab to configure the following options:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Pre-select Location | Automatically pre-selects a specific location in the wizard. The location selection step is then skipped. This is only relevant if more than one location has been created. Useful if the module is embedded on a location-specific page. |
| Pre-select Service | Automatically pre-selects a specific service. The service selection step is then skipped. |
Functional Check
- Are all steps from "Initial Setup in 5 Steps" completed?
- Is the Booking Wizard module fully configured, published and saved?
- If yes, the JoomBook Booking Wizard now appears in the frontend of your website and you can make your first test booking from the customer perspective.
