Export & Import

Pro JoomBook can export your JoomBook data as a ZIP archive and import it again - ideal for backups or migrating to another installation.
This feature is available from the Pro Plan onwards.
Export and import are located under JoomBook → Settings → General Settings in the "Export Data" and "Import Data" cards.
Exporting Data
- Tick the desired sections under "Select the data sections to export"
- Click Start Export
A ZIP archive is downloaded containing the selected sections as structured data. Available sections:
- Settings & Colour Scheme
- Locations
- Services & Categories
- Staff (incl. working hours)
- Customers GDPR
- Appointments GDPR
- Notification Log
Customer and appointment data is subject to the GDPR and is not ticked by default. Store export files securely.
Importing Data
- Under "Import Data", upload your JoomBook import file (.zip) and click Upload & Verify File
- The confirmation screen shows the included data sections
- Choose the import mode:
- Merge - existing data is kept, new records are added
- Overwrite - affected tables are cleared and re-populated
- Click Start Import Now
In "Overwrite" mode, all existing data for the included sections is permanently deleted. Create a backup first.
