Installing as a Joomla Package

JoomBook is installed as a complete Joomla package and automatically sets up all components, plugins and modules.
Step 1: Download the Package
Download the current JoomBook package from joombook.com/files. You will receive a ZIP file: pkg_joombook.zip.
Step 2: Install in the Joomla Backend
- Log in to the Joomla backend (
/administrator)
- Navigate to System → Install Extensions
- Select the "Upload Package File" tab
- Click "Browse" and select
pkg_joombook.zip
- Click "Upload & Install"
What Gets Installed?
The package automatically installs the following extensions:
- com_joombook – Main component (admin backend)
- mod_joombook_wizard – Frontend booking module
- plg_ajax_joombook – AJAX endpoints for the wizard
- plg_system_joombook – System integration
- plg_user_joombook – Customer data synchronisation
- plg_joombook_notify_email – Email notifications
- plg_joombook_payment_cash – Cash payment gateway
- plg_task_joombook_reminders – Appointment reminders (cron job)
Verify the Installation
After a successful installation, JoomBook appears in the Joomla backend main menu. JoomBook is located in the Joomla backend under Components → JoomBook. Navigate to JoomBook → Dashboard to verify everything loaded correctly.
Tip: After installation, check all plugins under System → Plugins and confirm all plg_*_joombook plugins are enabled.
