Answers to the most frequently asked questions about JoomBook.

Installation & Compatibility

Does JoomBook work with Joomla 6?

Yes. JoomBook is developed and tested for both Joomla 5 and Joomla 6.

Can I run JoomBook alongside other booking systems?

In principle yes, however running multiple booking systems simultaneously can cause conflicts with module positions. We recommend using JoomBook exclusively.

Licences & Plans

Can I upgrade at any time?

Yes, at any time via joombook.com/pricing. The new features are available immediately after entering the new license key.

What happens when my annual licence expires and I do not renew it?

JoomBook automatically reverts to the Free Plan. All existing bookings are retained. Pro/Full features are unavailable until renewal.

Do I still receive updates if I do not renew?

Yes. You receive updates on every plan - including the Free Plan and after a paid licence has expired. Only the Pro/Full features are disabled, not the updates themselves.

Operation

The booking wizard shows no available slots

Most common causes:

  1. No staff member assigned to the service
  2. Staff member has no working hours entered
  3. Booking lead time too long (all slots too close to the current time)
  4. Max. booking window too short (all slots are too far in the future)

Emails are not being sent

Check under System → Global Configuration → Server → Mail Settings whether Joomla can send emails. JoomBook's email settings require Joomla itself to be able to send mail.
